Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this subject, students will be able to:
1.
Understand the foundations of explanatory traditions and approaches to methodology in international relations.
2.
Demonstrate basic understanding of the most common qualitative and quantitative data collection methods and in-depth knowledge of a couple of methods specific to your potential research project.
3.
Be able to design relevant and feasible approaches to investigating research problems by creating your own research questions, methodological approaches, and research designs.
4.
Be aware of the ethical and political dimensions of international relations research and how to apply for University ethics approval as necessary.
